What is a Baptist Association?
Associations are spoken of in various ways - annual meetings, messengers from churches, a program of work, a geographical territory. An association may be defined as follows: A Baptist association is a self-governing fellowship of autonomous churches sharing a common faith and active on mission in their setting.
The Greater Wabash Baptist Association was organized in October of 1882 as the Mt. Erie Baptist Association. The name was changed in January 1975 to Greater Wabash.
